Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose between leading edge and trailing edge dimming?

Yes – both options are supported. Trailing edge (default) is recommended for most LEDs, while leading edge may be better for some halogens or older LED bulbs.

Can I adjust the brightness range for my bulbs?

Yes – you can set custom minimum and maximum brightness levels to avoid flicker and tailor dimming to your bulbs.

What type of bulbs are supported?

The dimmers are designed for high-quality dimmable LED bulbs or halogen lamps. Minimum load is 5W per lamp, with a total minimum of 5W per circuit.

Do I need a neutral wire?

No – Repenic are designed for UK homes and work without a neutral wire. This means they can be installed as a direct replacement for your existing wall switch in older properties as well as modern homes.

What should the depth of the installation box be?

It should be at least 25mm.

Can I install more than one dimmer in the same circuit?

Yes, you can install up to 5 of these dimmers in the same circuit, allowing you to control the lights on the same circuit from multiple different locations, with each dimmer featuring on, off, and dimming functions.

This dimmer can also be connected to our smart dimmer to form 2-way/3-way control, with one smart dimmer connecting to a maximum of 2 of these dimmers.

Do I need to regularly maintain my brass faceplate?

No need. Our brass plates have a protective coating on the surface that effectively prevents oxidation and fading, so almost no special daily care is required.

How many lights can I connect to a dimmer?

There is no limit on the number of lights controlled by the dimmer. As long as the total wattage of all lights controlled by this dimmer adds up to less than 250W. Due to certain errors in the nominal wattage of lights, we recommend that the total wattage of the lights be preferably below 230W.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

Yes, but only if it meets the required safety standards and is placed in the right zone.
